Television Shows and Travel

It has been quite a long time, I know. It has been extremely busy this past month. I have been working on two episodes of Acquire the Fire Television for the past month, and went to Nashville last week for an Acquire the Fire event. Let me tell you, riding in a bus for twelve hours isn't exactly my favorite thing to do. The event was worth it though! Today should be the last day of having to directly work on one of the episodes of AtF TV, which will quite nice. It'll also be great to see it all put together on the screen. I am amazed at how quickly I was given something as big as this show even though I have only been here for about two months! I may post the episodes on here once they are done, so look out for those!

Texas Weather

One thing I learned quickly when I came to Texas is this: Weather in Texas is a lie. It has been very cold here for the past week or so, the wind is making everything colder, and the water coming from the fountain quickly turns to ice. So, if you ever come to Texas during the winter, don't expect it to always be warm and sunny. It can get cold here, so pack a coat and some long pants unless you want to freeze to death. I'm sure glad I did.

Goodbye, Gauntlet!

Almost two weeks ago, I posted here saying that I would not be able to post here for the next week or so due to a thing everybody here likes to call "gauntlet." Well, folks, that is over, and blog posts can start appearing once again! Over the past week, I have made so many friends. They're all a lot of fun, and I look forward to growing closer to them while I am here. Before I got here, many people here were working on a music video with their Newsboys for their song "That's How You Change the World". Last week, I got to go through the video multiple times, and looked for mistakes. I know that doesn't seem really exciting, but it was for me! Towards the end of gauntlet, I and everyone else in the Writer/Producer/Director track did workshops with Doug Rittenhouse, our director. The guy is a awesome. Really. We got to hear a lot about he got into the business last night, and what it was like. We then talked about budgeting and all of the different aspects of that. It was definitely one of the best times of the week! Sunday morning, I found out that I was given a $2,500 donation for my tuition here! God is good! I am very close to becoming fully funded for the next two years. If you would like to donate, check out how you can do that here: http://ewsmatccm.blogspot.com/2013/12/donating.html This weekend, I am headed to Houston to help with the Acquire the Fire event. I'll be working with the interactive texting program with which everyone in the around will be able to send texts to us that may very well end up on the screens on stage. I'm looking forward to it! I will try to post something away that time. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has supported me and has followed the blog! I am very appreciative of all of you. -Evan W.S. Morgan-

Gauntlet

Day Two! Yesterday, I moved into my dorm, and met a lot if awesome people! The CCMers are amazing. Eccentric, strange, hilarious. Things I consider myself to be. For the next week, I will be on what we call "gauntlet". This means that I won't be able to be on social media until a week from tomorrow. That includes not only Facebook and Twitter, but here as well. So, this blog will be idle for a little bit. Don worry, though; I'll post right after gauntlet ends!

A New Year, No Resolutions

Happy New Year to all of you! While people are making resolutions for 2014, I'm not going to even bother. Going to CCM could be considered one, yes; and it is a huge one. Everything I knew in Michigan is gone, there's a new slate. New people, new home, new... everything. Now that I think of it, if I had to come up with a resolution for this year, it is to become a better person in all aspects of my life, and to get a better vision of what God has in store for me. We're in Arkansas now, with approximately three and a half hours until we reach Texas. We'll be in Lindale around 7:30, 8:30 for those of you in the Eastern time zone. Tomorrow, I'll be doing some last minute shopping, and then I am going to head over to the campus to get a tour from one of the interns. I'm looking forward to it!

On My Way!

At 7:20 this morning, we left my driveway. We passed into Ohio an hour ago, and were met with snow. Thankfully, it wasn't terrible. The sun's out now. We'll get into Nashville early this evening where we will be staying for a day, then we'll make the rest of the trip to Lindale. I'll post more later!

Update and Snow

Well, the time to move down to Texas is getting closer every minute, and I am still in need of donations. The good news is that I am more than halfway to my goal! If you want to help, there are instructions in my first post on the blog. Unsurprisingly, snow is coming down in Michigan, and I had to shovel it. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't keep coming down, making the work I just did obsolete. That's one thing that I won't be missing about this place! -Evan W.S. Morgan-
